Yes, I know you’re heard this you’re unique bla, bla and bla, but until you stop comparing yourself and start focusing on how to better yourself, you’ll never destroy self doubt. At the end of the day, comparing yourself to others is a no-win situation.

First of all, you don’t have nearly enough facts about anyone’s life to accurately compare your life to theirs. So it’s basically impossible for you to be able to judge whether or not they’re actually doing as well as you think, or are simply awesome at putting up a successful veneer.

One thing that happens, always occurs when you compare yourself to someone else, is this;

You actually don’t tend to take into account the differences in how long they’ve been working to achieve a certain goal compared to how long you have.

The only person it’s really fair to compare yourself to is a former version of yourself, whom you should aim to be better than.

2. Identify the Source of Your Negative Beliefs

So you think you can’t do it or aren’t good enough? Why is that exactly?

Rather than just accept an outlook as true only because you have believed in it for so long, you should ask yourself when and where you formed that opinion that is negativing affecting your life.

When you ask yourself these questions, you may discover that some of your opinions about yourself are long outdated beliefs that stem from as far back as childhood which aren’t true today.

When you come to this conclusion, this will be the beginning of a long process of replacing old ideas with new ones. Instead of asking “but what if…” start asking “why not?” This is the real question to ask yourself.

3. Focus On Your Successes Rather Than Your Failures

This is so true today, I have a friend who purchased a land at a very tender age, and still thinks he’s a failure. The moment you start counting your successes rather than your failures, that is the moment you’ll start rebuilding your confidence to the highest level.

Please stop identifying with your failures and under-achievements. It’s sad that at age 30, you have a car, but because Andrey have two cars, you automatically becomes a failure.

In all honesty, this is one habit that is quite tough to break, but forcing yourself to turn things around can be life changing and will make a happier you.

The next time you’re feeling down about yourself, take a pen, sit down and write out a list of all the things you’ve achieved, sweet compliments that people have offered you, and even qualities that you consider to be your best assets, you’ll know that Life is great.

4. Stay Away From Haters

This is one of the most strongest avenue self doubt comes from. Haters seems to generate self doubt in us like Transformers. If you have a friend that is constantly reminding you about your flaws, you’ve got a fri_enemy, and to get your happiness back, delete them off your life, it may be the saddest moment, but trust me, it’s for a better tomorrow.

When you allow someone else to interfere with your positive self-view, then the odds are that you’ve given them way too much power to control how you see and think about yourself.

The next time you feel like someone is judging you, you should try to picture your entire life as a graph, from the moment you were born right up until now. Think of all the millions of experiences, thoughts, and feelings that you’ve been through. Then try and come up with a percentage of exactly how many of them the other person is aware of, gone through or has experienced, then you should ask yourself who gave them the right to judge you or your actions.

If it’s someone you don’t know well, then the odds of that percentage being even 1 are extremely low.

When you look at it from that perspective, the idea that anyone has the right to judge you is actually pretty ridiculous and honestly, foolish.

5. Ditch the Excuses

Another working method to erase self doubt from your life is ditching excuses. Are you worried about what will happen if you fail? now, be ready for this shocking truth.

The same thing that will happen if you never try.

Unless you at least give something a shot, then the answer is already no, because you didn’t even try, You’ve already chosen the negative side of the situation even before taking the first step.

To achieve this goal, I’ll advise that you try out things like journaling, even if it’s just writing out three pages of whatever happens to be in your head every day, as quickly as you can. You’ll be stunned how many of your own problems you begin to identify and solve.

7. Realizing It’s Okay To Be Nervous

You think Confident people are not nervous? They’re super nervous but always picture a happy ending to any situation before even taking the first step. Even though this may sound a little like a Pinterest pin, the truth is that if your dreams don’t scare the hell out of you, then they’re either not big enough or you’re not going for them like you should.

When you’re working to achieve something you love, of course, it will be scary and somethings seems impossible, that’s how you know that it means a lot to you and the achieving part!

To achieve a goal, you should come to that realization that fear isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as long as you work through it rather than let it hold you back from going after your goals. Which may turn out to be the thing you’ll regret the most when you grow older.

8. Break Your Goals Down

This is an important section, which I carefully placed under the “7: Realizing it’s okay to be nervous”. When you really want to achieve something, the temptation can be great, leading you to believe that you have to go from 0 to 60 within 10 seconds. You see, life does not work that way. In reality, nothing could be further from the truth. This type of “all or nothing” thinking can actually keep you from acting, executing your plans to achieve your goals, due to the fear of having to do everything right this moment.

Instead, you should start from the first level. Try breaking down your goals into a series of incredibly specific actions. This will help you work on a little each day if need be, to build a successful life, business, home, etc, you don’t accomplish everything a day.

For instance, rather than thinking you have to write that entire novel tonight, how about committing to writing at least one or two pages a day. Or even just outlining it now?

9. Allow Your Mind To Follow Your Actions
